Grant funded Solar Panels
Solar panel grants are available as part the UK government’s ECO3 scheme and are intended to help reduce carbon emissions, and at the same time eradicate fuel poverty. With the end of the Solar Feed-in Tariff (FiT) in March 2019, an ECO3 grant is the now the way to secure a free government funded grant.
Our team at Solar Panels Grants has been helping people gain grant funding for heating systems since ECO started in 2013 and during the FiT. We have helped thousands of people across the British Isles to obtain free grants for Solar PV systems (including solar batteries) that give cheaper electricity and home heating.
If you are in receipt of any of the qualifying benefits, you could qualify for FREE solar panels and enjoy up to 50% off your energy bills. Solar panel grants are subsidised by UK energy companies and don’t need to be paid back. See if you qualify here.Apply now
What is the Free Solar PV Scheme?
In 2012, the UK parliament approved the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. In its current form, the ECO3 scheme has £640 million per annum of funding allocated to the Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO) from which we claim the solar grants.
ECO3 funding is something that offers solar panel grants to help homeowners and tenants (with landlord permission) in England, Scotland and Wales to reduce their carbon emissions and energy bills. Providing grants to vulnerable people, the scheme helps ensure your home is more energy-efficient. If you meet the eligibility criteria, we make it easy for you to secure a solar panel grant and installation.
ECO3 is backed by British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, Npower, Scottish Power and SSE. This web site supports all of the ECO3 scheme criteria effective from October 2019 and revised 1st January 2021.
At Solar Panels Grants, we are passionate about ensuring that your grant application is always correct to the solar funding available. By working with leading local solar and electrical installers, we organise it all for you from grant to installation.
Affordable Warmth Obligation (HHCRO) funding
In order to qualify for a solar panel grant, you will need to be on eligible HHCRO benefits and be a homeowner or a tenant with landlord permission.
At present, solar panel grants are only available to homes that are heated by electricity, such as electric storage heaters, portal electric heaters and electric boilers.
If your household does not meet the qualifying criteria, we offer an attractive Help-to-Buy scheme to help you gain access to free electricity from a Solar PV system, battery storage and trading.
The Good News is that since the launch of ECO3 in October 2018, the funding caps on household income have been removed. This has made it much easier to secure a solar panel grant and installation in 2021.
The type and size of your property will determine the solar panel grant available to you. Of particular importance is the size and direction of your roof, and whether there is any shading from trees in the immediate area.

How do "Solar Panels Grants" work?
Why get solar PV panels installed?
A new Solar PV system not only reduces your energy bills but also, is an excellent way to lower your carbon footprint and protect the environment.
Energy costs are rising all the time. Generating your own electricity for free that can be stored in batteries for use over night or traded with the national grid saving you even more money and reducing the burning of fossil fuels is good for everybody.
Solar panel electricity is a technology that keeps on giving, year after year. Giving savings, giving peace of mind from increasing energy prices and giving a gift to protect the planet.
In March 2019, the UK government announced that Gas boilers will be banned in all new homes from 2025 to help tackle emissions. Futures homes will be heated and run using electricity from solar panels and other renewables. While the ECO3 grant is available, now is the time to start using this future-proof technology.
